Help to buy enabled us to get our perfect family home

Ariane and Matt Grimshaw (37) had been living in rented accommodation in Minster Lovell, near Witney, Oxfordshire with their three daughters but were really keen to get on the property ladder and buy a home for their growing family.

The couple had previously looked at several properties but at the time were unable to get a mortgage. When a change of circumstances meant they were able to proceed with a new search, the family were quick to look at several new developments, including Deanfield Homes latest development, Deanfield Grange in Shipton-Under-Wychwood.

Ariane explains, “As soon as we knew we were in a position to start our property search again we looked at a number of new build developments in the area. We were keen on new build as they offered the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, making the property more achievable. Having looked at several developments, we were really impressed when we visited Deanfield Grange.

“Immediately we knew the quality of the build was better than others we had previously seen and after viewing the show home, loved the way the house was designed internally and the generous size of each room.”family in dream home on Help to buy

Ariane and Matt purchased a four bedroom detached Dunsmore at Deanfield Grange with impressive kitchen/dining/family room, separate utility room and landscaped front garden.

Ariane continues, “Deanfield Homes and the team at Savills were so accommodating and helped us through the process. Both Matt and I were keen not to buy from a larger housebuilder and really got the personal touch from Deanfield Homes, moving a wall back for us and lowering the plug sockets.

“We were about to complete on our property when the Coronavirus pandemic broke but Deanfield Homes and Savills were incredibly helpful and efficient and got us through this difficult time. They went above and beyond to get us moved into our home in time and nothing was too much trouble for them. We can’t thank them enough.

“We are so impressed with the quality of the home and features like the oak doors and the team at Deanfield Homes have really looked after us. The site manager even came to check we were all OK after moving in and made sure we could work everything.

“With home-schooling and working from home, because of lockdown, the house has proved it works for us. Matt has been running his management consultancy from home and we have all been able to be in the house at the same time and not disturb him working. The house feels so spacious even with all our furniture in it and the girls are loving the fact that they have their own bedrooms. We feel very fortunate.

“Once lockdown is over, the location is also really great for us as I am able to get to Witney where I teach gymnastics and Matt can travel a couple of days a week to London which is easily accessible for him.”

Located on the edge of the sought after Cotswolds village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the homes at Deanfield Grange are proving a real hit with discerning purchasers, with over 50% already reserved or sold. The development features a stunning collection of three, four and five bedroom family homes, built using local materials to create attractive street scenes.
