A family of four in Bedfordshire have upsized to a three storey property at David Wilson Homes’ Willow Grove development to give their family room to grow.
Paul and Sara Canavan (both in their 40s) have two teenage daughters Katie (15) and Chloe (12) who are beginning to appreciate their own space, and used the developer’s Part Exchange scheme to secure their new home on Southern Cross.
After living in Bedford for the last 18 years, the family knew they didn’t want to move far from the area they knew, but Wixams had the appeal of being close to good schooling and ideal road and rail links.
Now they can all benefit from having large family areas where they can spend quality time together as well as solitary spaces where they can enjoy time to themselves.
Sara said: “We looked at extending our previous four bedroom property, but the Moorecroft gave us what we wanted, a much bigger kitchen/family area and more space for the children to have some privacy at home.
“We’ve got two girls in their teens, so the Moorecroft offers us space and areas around the house that means we all have our independence and aren’t stepping on each other’s toes.
“We’ve always bought with David Wilson Homes, our first house was a new build David Wilson home and so was our most previous property.
“They’re known as a good quality builder, with generously sized homes and finishing that are better than other housebuilders.”
The family are already enjoying becoming a part of a flourishing community at the development as more residents begin to move in. They are all looking forward to the additional facilities that will be available as the village expands.
Sara added: “We used the Part Exchange scheme and bought and sold within one week, so we could reserve the house and not worry about a chain.
“This was so much easier than having to think about selling our previous home and meant that the whole moving process was smooth and quick.”
Alison Raine, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Northampton, said: “We are delighted to hear that the Canavan family have settled into their new home at Willow Grove and are reaping the benefits of their new home.
“Whether your children are entering their teen years or returning back home after living at university, our three storey properties offer extra space and privacy that two storey houses simply cannot.
“The upstairs bedroom provides a getaway space for when it is needed and the open plan downstairs living areas mean the family can still enjoy quality time together - benefitting from the best of both worlds.”
For older children who are returning home after a period of time away, the so called “Boomerang Generation”, having the top floor to themselves can help give them a sense of independence. This means that privacy is now more important than ever before and with a tucked away bedroom and bathroom to themselves, a three storey home could be the perfect solution for families.
Whilst having the finest aspects of rural living close to home, residents at Willow Grove will be excellently linked to Bedford and towns and cities further afield such as Milton Keynes and London.
The development is also impeccably positioned to take advantage of fast trains from Bedford, providing connections to London St Pancras, Leicester, Nottingham and Birmingham New Street as well as local services.
High quality schooling options and an array of nearby leisure, dining and shopping amenities make for a delightful place to call home.
