On 24 February at their show home at Royal Wells Park, Crofton, WDH is aiming to make home ownership affordable for first time buyers.
On offer is WDH’s affordable Shared Ownership scheme, a way for many to take their first steps on the property ladder.
Affordable housing schemes are more desirable than ever as recent research revealed the importance of owning a home for young adults. A Yorkshire Building Society study showed that on average, young people consider owning a property more important than career success, academic achievements, and even marriage.
Benefits of the scheme include smaller deposits, a quality modern home which is likely to increase in value, and the opportunity to purchase the full property when financially ready.
Sally Lister, Home Ownership Manager of WDH said: “We are very proud to help people to take their first steps onto the property ladder. Since our Shared Ownership scheme started in 2007, we have helped over 300 people buy their own home on developments across the region.
“With our open house event at Royal Wells Park on Saturday 24 February, we look forward to welcoming the public for an informal chat with our expert advisors, and help them discover how our Shared Ownership scheme can help them to become homeowners.”
Katie Garland, a WDH Shared Ownership resident from Outwood said: “The Shared Ownership Team at WDH was amazing. Everyone was very approachable and everything was very well explained. The whole process was seamless, taking just over eight weeks from start to finish. I would recommend Shared Ownership to anyone looking to get on the property ladder. You get tons of advice and support throughout the process and the aftercare is excellent. It allows you to buy a house but at a price that is affordable to you.”
